Motherhood is a very complex phenomenon. It’s more than just a responsibility; more than just an emotion; more than just a momentary situation; it is a vocation. Not only that it gives the highest level of happiness for women like me, it also marks the start of a more meaningful life. However, there are little things, sometimes as regular as the rising of the sun, which makes motherhood more worthwhile.
It’s the feeling of excitement when you’re still waiting for the ninth month; it’s the feeling of pain you feel when the time has come; it’s the feeling of relief when you hear his cry for the very first time; it’s the feeling of thrill you feel when you finally see the baby sleeper you bought two months ago fitting him so perfectly. It’s also the feeling of pride when you drive him in his first day of school, or when you’re looking at him performing up the stage like a pro. It’s also the feeling of worry the first time he stayed out late, and the feeling of relief when you find him sleeping soundly just like when he was a baby in his cute footed pajamas. It’s the loneliness you feel when he moved out for college, and the feeling of happiness you had when he graduated. These complex emotions will continue even until he will have a family of his own - because motherhood is eternal, as eternal as the love mother have for their children.
